INTERVIEW: Gaz from 'Geordie Shore'

MTV’s smash-hit reality series Geordie Shore returns for a second series Tuesday 31st January at 10pm. To celebrate the show’s return, we caught up with your favourite faces from the show to find out more.

First up, it’s Gaz….

Q: What can we expect from the second series?

A: Now we all know each other and we’re all comfortable together, we’re not afraid to say when someone’s out of line or just say what we think. Before, we’d hold back.

There’s lots of going out and a lot more house parties, the house is much better for that. Girls came back, obviously! Standard.
To me the GS is the best job in the world - I get to party for a job, what more could you want?

Q: Do you feel like you’re famous now?

A: It’s nice when people ask for your picture and that, but I don’t see myself like that. I’m not behaving like a celebrity. It’s harder going out now though, with people coming up to us.

Q: What do people say when they come up to you, do they tell you off about Charlotte?

A: Aye! That’s what I always get - I’ve had that conversation about a million times on the bus, the train. A lot of lads come up as well, because we’re showing what it’s like to be a typical lad. They see me doing this doing that, kissing girls – which doesn’t happen on TOWIE and doesn’t happen on Made In Chelsea – I’m someone on TV going out getting the girls, just being a typical lad and that goes out to a lot of blokes, so they ask for me picture as well. People do talk to us like they know us.
Q: Is it easier to pull now, do you think girls come up to you because they want to get on TV?
A: Definitely easier. Definitely. You can tell them sort of girls a million miles away though, I don’t go for all that. You can generally tell if they’re there for the camera or if they actually like you. Would I pull that sort of girl? Depends what time it is.

Q: Do you ever forget that what you’re getting up to will be shown on the telly?

A: I know Jay will not watch episodes, because he’s had an argument with Vicky and that, but when I’m watching it I just feel I’m watching a home movie; you forget how many other people are watching it and then Twitter starts going mental and you’re like “shit, everyone’s watching it!”. You do forget.

Q: Are you looking for a relationship in this series?

I had a girlfriend for two years before Geordie Shore. The environment that I’m in now, the life I’ve got now, having a girlfriend would be extra, extra hard. I want to go out as much as I can, have as much banter with the lads as I can, and when the right girl comes along that’ll be it.

Q: For any girls who fancy trying their luck, what are you looking for?

Someone who is naturally pretty – so that when you wake up in the morning, she looks the same as when you went to bed.

Q: Who caused the most fights in the house?

Me! I had quite a few arguments. As soon as there’s a big fight the house goes into teams; there’s a divide between the boys and girls. Being in a house there’s always going to be arguments, but I think it’s how you make up with someone and that’s why we’re so strong now.

Q: Which celebrity would you like to take on a Geordie Shore night out?

David Beckham! I think he’s just god. I’d just stare at him. And I’d like a night out with Russell Brand because he’d teach me a thing or two. And Alan Carr as well, I think he’s the funniest man in the world.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: I’d love to do a “Hitch” style dating show, helping a lad who doesn’t have a clue and can’t pull girls. Can you imagine just getting a lad and getting them sorted out, getting his hair done, taking him on a night out and helping him get girls?

Q: And finally… snog/marry/avoid… Chloe Sims, Lauren Goodger and Sam Faiers.

A: I’d avoid Chloe Sims because she’s too fake for me and I don’t like all that. I’d snog Lauren and marry Sam.
